No man is an island. The entire globe is interconnected. In this VUCA world, to reach the goal alone is not possible. SDG 17 calls for partnerships between governments, the private sector, and civil society.
Let me quote Henry Ford. “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
Is working together or collaboration a 21st century skill? Our Epics say something else.
Let me narrate an anecdote from Mahabharat. Sage Vedvyas is the creator of this epic, and he wanted someone to write down what he was saying. Finally, he approached Lord Ganesha, who agreed to write but threw in a rider at him, saying that Sage Vedvyas should not stop dictating if he must write.
This rider was countered by Vedvyas who said that Ganesha must understand the meaning before he writes it down. So this is what happened. Vedvyas would recite complex shlokas and Ganesha would try to understand it and meanwhile Vedvyas would get the time to think of few more shlokas.
